Best Practice in the Management of Patients with Heart Disease

  Contact Hours : 8 Hours

Course Description

This webinar emphasizes key considerations applicable to the physical and occupational therapist in effectively managing patients with heart disease along the spectrum of care. Disease processes for patients with hypertension, acute coronary syndrome, valvular disease and heart failure will be presented with specific reference to its etiology, pathology, and current medical management. In addition, the course accentuates current evidence on the interacting concepts of stability, decompensation and readmissions in patients with heart disease. Examination and evaluation strategies, organized clinical decision making and evidenced-based treatment techniques will be emphasized to provide clinicians with a contemporary best practice approach for managing patients with chronic cardiac diseases.
